Camilla & Peter Dalglish Atrium & Aldershot Escarpment Garden
Project Overview
Ira McDonald Construction delivered the Camilla and Peter Dalglish Atrium Facility and Aldershot Escarpment Gardens, a landmark 15,925 sq. ft., three-storey gateway to the Royal Botanical Gardens. Designed with sustainable principles and striking architecture, the project provides a barrier-free connection to the gardens while showcasing innovative design and environmental stewardship.
- Construction Management delivery of a multi-level atrium facility with glazed walls and roof, exposed concrete, structural steel, timber decking, and high-quality finishes
- Sustainable Features: LEED Gold Certification, living walls integrated with HVAC for air filtration, radiant in-floor heating, rainwater collection for irrigation and greywater use, low-VOC materials, and daylight-optimized lighting controls
- Highlights: Salvaged Queenston Limestone reused internally, complex caisson shoring wall, and a glazed roof supported by an innovative structural framework
