Margaret’s Place Hospice at St. Joseph’s Villa

Project Overview

IMC is proud to deliver the Margaret’s Place Hospice, a 10-bed hospice facility designed to provide compassionate, family-centered care in a peaceful setting. Spanning 26,000 sq.ft., the facility is organized into two wings — a single-storey, six-bed residential wing and a two-storey wing that accommodates four additional beds along with shared family and care spaces.

  • Constructed with a high-efficiency wood-frame building envelope, complemented by heavy timber features and a slab-on-grade foundation over a precast mechanical basement, the building reflects both warmth and sustainability.
  • The facility integrates advanced mechanical and electrical systems, including a full-building sprinkler system, high-efficiency LED lighting, and tailored HVAC designs that meet healthcare standards — constant volume with terminal reheat on the main floor and variable air volume (VAV) zoning on the second floor.
  • Built in accordance with the Hospice Capital Program Design Standards and CSA Z8000 / Z317.2 requirements, Keaton’s House prioritizes Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) while ensuring a homelike atmosphere. The project also demonstrates thoughtful site planning, minimizing environmental impact and blending seamlessly with the adjacent Spring Creek Conservation Area.
