Rock Garden Rejuvenation

Project Overview

The Rejuvenation Project delivered a full restoration and expansion of the Rock Garden and its surrounding infrastructure, enhancing visitor experience while preserving sensitive natural and conservation areas. Completed in phases, the work combined landscape restoration, accessibility improvements, and new facilities to create a vibrant, award-winning garden destination. 

  • Scope: Multi-phase restoration and expansion including new gardens, infrastructure upgrades, and visitor amenities
  • Key Components:
    • Development of three new gardens with upgraded water, sewage, electrical, and irrigation systems
    • Restoration and redevelopment of the existing Sunken Garden, improved access, enhanced water features, new pathways, terraces, seating areas, drop-off zones, and expanded parking 
    • Construction of the David Braley & Nancy Gordon Rock Garden Visitor Centre — a state-of-the-art entrance with restaurant, conference facilities, look-out deck, washrooms, and visitor information 
  • Additional Work: Renovations to the existing Tea House and upgraded site amenities while preserving natural surroundings
